I didnt say "Anybody who is going to use unix often should USE vi all
the time". Just that not knowing basic vi commands could get you into
trouble where as knowing the basics, particulary how to exit without
saving changes, will get you out of trouble.
Wars about editors are as bad as wars about operating systems - vim is
the best.
