The default install in Mandrake has more joy (and SSL) but I find that I
always have more luck (and more tedium) downloading and installing from
source.

PostGres does have an ODBC driver but I've never had reason to use it.

About TWIG - there is a patched earlier version running at
http://mail.buttnaked.com.au/ which is why my name's in the sources. The
current version is much remodelled and I probably wouldn't recognise it,
although I'm still a list member.
