Jeremy,

I can't offer anything in the way of statistics. I can only
mention that my ISP (Wantree) recently trailed blocking
software - warning if sites would be blocked. This was
the software they thought they had to run to comply with
the legislation. I received a warning that a site I was
trying to access would be blocked by the software. All I
was doing was attempting to read a review of
"The Man in the High Castle" by Philip K. Dick. This
book is a classic in the Science Fiction genre and the
author famous for this and other works (indeed several
films, including "Blade Runner", have been based on his
novels and stories). Unfortunately, the software doesn't
seem to like his surname.

I am an adult internet user in a household with only one other
person, also an adult. Neither of us access pornographic
sites, yet in this instance we were warned that in the future
we may not be able to access a legitimate site.

This did lead me to speculate that if:
1. I created a site critical of "Dick" Alston and
2. Access to this site was blocked by the software
I might have reasonable grounds to challenge the legislation
based on the High Courts discovered rights of free speech.

Keep up the good work,

Bill Cullen.
