Are you trying to get sound or video going?

You might try either from the com line or 
from netscape/edit/prefs/navigator/apps

/usr/bin/play %s
or
/usr/bin/play english.au

or "cat english.au > /dev/audio" by hand from a prompt.

What are you trying to do?
