They *have* improved, actually.  The original versions were cluelessly
written and a dog to install, but the current versions are
considerably safer (though still a dog to install, if you want it to
work with suexec).

But does anyone know of any open source alternatives?  The two things
that Frontpage + FP Server Extensions can do that no open source
product that I am aware of can do are:

(a)	Easy remote editing of files.
(b)	Automatic generation of navigation buttons etc.

I would be interested to hear of any alternative solutions that people
know of.
