No, it might be a bit sluggish, but it should be okay for a small
cache.

I run a squid proxy here on a P133 with 32M of RAM (was 24M for a
while, actually) and the cache (a few hundred megs for a few
computers) runs nicely.  The box is also a masquerading gateway,
mail server, webserver (mostly internal access, though), POP3,
IMAP, etc.  It may not run perfectly, but it will run  :)

My biggest suggestion would be to *not* run X on it... that's 
always a big resource suck  :)
