maybe it's ISA plug and play, ie: the configuration is handled by software.
Sometimes you can configure these devices via a supplied config program
(probably DOS based). Other times you may be able to use a BIOS switch that
will configure the pnp device before the OS is booted. Or even use the ISA PnP
stuff that comes with linux, but that's probably the more difficult option.
