Excellent Distro,

has proper system V directory setup, comes with everything, but you'll
probably want to upgrade the kernel with www.kernel.org sources.

I haven't had any major problems with it (on laptop/desktop) and it
doesn't seem to have any strange logrotate/java quirks of another
distro that I also have to use...;)

IMHO SuSE 7 is one of the best around, in terms of updates/support/info
(www.suse.com) and runs pretty close to 'standard' for linux.
