[plug] /dev/sequencer and wine

I am trying to run a game (puttputt at the zoo!) using wine for my 6yo. 
It only partially runs, then exits with the error "Can't open MIDI
device '/dev/sequencer' ! (No such device): Load MIDI sequencer kernel
driver !".  "modprob -kv snd-seq-midi" gives the module loading below
(from lsmod), but the error continues.  "/dex/sequencer" and
/dev/sequencer2" are present with permissions of "crw_rw_rw_"  Is there
something I am missing??  Also, what (simple) program can I use to test
a sequencer?
