56K should be enough with Squid or a similar proxy on the Linux box
(spec it for >=64K of RAM, recommend 128K) unless they're going to be
absolutely hammering the link full time.

ISDN is still expensive, but it is fast. Linux drives it nicely through
e.g. a NetJet card.
