Yes, and you can even point them at the same zone file, so if you change a
hostname in one, it automatically changes the other
(which is how I've set up plug.linux.org.au and plug.org.au, for example)

You need to register and delegate the domain with Internet Names Australia
(www.ina.com.au)
Beware that the rules are strict (not strict enough though IMHO) and that
you probably will not be able to register maps.com.au because
a) you already have a .com.au domain and you can only register one
domain per company (which you can get around by registering another
company name)
and
b) I doubt INA will register maps.com.au to anyone because it's too
generic a term.
