Hi all I am new to the group and a Newbie to Linux I am from Kalgoorlie
I have a delema that has got me beat I have installed RedHat 6.1 on a
Pentium 100
I have 2 Win98 comps connected and a working Ipchains firewall
my problem is i have to start x and run KPPP to connect to my local isp
i must have made at least 100 phone calls trying to configure a script
that works everthing seems to got okay with iether PAP or text based
username and password but imediatly after ppp starts the modem
disconnects
here is a a copy of the messages log maybe sombody can help.
The only thing that is common to all my connections is the error 'Cant
Locate module char-major-108' ?
Tonight i used wvdial and connected to iinet in perth useing my mates
username & password it worked fine
the only diff is I have a permanent I.P no maybe this is the problem.
