I think you're not the only one who perhaps did not word things very
well. The paragraph of mine that you cite above was later qualified
when I provided my reasoning and "evidence" for my point of view. The
fact is that I haven't conducted any sort of study or research into this
so I can't point to that to support my view point (and this is what I
meant by the above quote). I do, however, think that my explanation and
reasoning does stand up quite well. In the end if someone disagrees
with that then I'm not going to get too concerned about that because I
don't see how anyone can conclusively prove it one way or the other --
however, I certainly haven't argued my point entirely "from feeling" as
you suggest. If you can see flaws in my reasoning then I'm very
interested in hearing them (although perhaps it would do to take the
discussion off-list from here on).
For the record, I didn't take any offense from what you said and I
didn't see anything personal in it -- it was merely two people debating
a point.
