[plug] mandrake 7.2 problems

i have just installed mandrake 7.2 but had ( and still have) a few problems.
i could not get the instalation to work directly from cd rom, it kept coming 
up with errors ( somewhat randomly on each attempt at installing) so i copied 
it to my windows partition and ran the install ( using the hd.img as boot on 
a floppy) from there. all worked fine except i cant get CUPS to work. it did 
a test page while installing , but wont work post install. when trying to use 
printtool i get a error that it cant start the cups server. can any one help?

what happened to the spell checker on kmail, it seems not to be ther on kde2
