	Funnily enough at the same time i posted this some-one posted
the same problem to the Debian-user mailing list. It appears the "latest dpkg
upgrade seems to have removed the force-overwrite feature from apt, which 
is normally set in the unstable branch, but removed when it comes to stable."

 I changed the order in which i installed the fonts and everything
seems to be ok now (crosses fingers). If soemthing dies later on i'll
give the above a try.
