Yup, take a look at my last log (on a rh6.1 system):

[jason at nikita jason] last -f /var/log/wtmp.1
web pts/11 localhost Fri Sep 29 23:11 - 23:12 (00:00)
jason tty1 Tue Sep 26 18:13 still logged in
reboot system boot 2.2.16-3 Tue Sep 26 18:13 (8+19:36)

I had to reboot when installing the 2.2.16 kernel (and then again when I
recompiled).

Also Bret. If you can't get bash to find the total session times, might I
suggest a more powerful scripting language like ark or perl. In other words,
try harder.
