I do not know about Debian, but I do know about libc.  You should test
this on a non-production server first.  It is not as bad as going from
libc 5 to glibc 2, but there are reports of incompatibilities and
different bugs giving strange behaviour in programs.

If you are lucky, there should be no problems.  Do you feel lucky?
