You will only have problems if you have installed any non-debian programs
that rely on glibc2.0 - If the only programs you have installed are Debian
packages, then the apt-get dist-upgrade will upgrade all of those to the
glibc2.1 version.

Though having said that, one of the systems I mentioned in my last email
is our proxy server, which is running a version of Squid which I
personally compiled, and which would have been linked with glibc2.0, and
that's still running great (*touch wood*)
