[plug] Weirdness on getty

Peoples,

I accidentally discovered this bizzarity on my Debian 2.2 Intel system
with caps lock unintentionally used... Has anybody else noticed it?

At the login prompt at a getty on a vt, typing a username or any string of
letters entirely in uppercase will result in everything thereon being in
uppercase until the getty dies and is respawned. Colours are non-existant
and the first bash prompt is also blank.

Weird??? Doesnt seem to work in a telnet shell, only from a vt. Also, I
find that when the cursor is in column 64 on an 80x25 screen, it also
shows up in column 1 of the previous line. BIOS bug or Linux bug? I never
experienced it using DOS.

Anyone had either of these happen to them or have any idea what's going
on here?

Bernard.
