[plug] Netconf broken pipe

Hi all I have a small problem when I type netconf 
from a terminal.
I get error broken pipe I have not idea why im sure its not much
I can run X-WIN32 on my windows comp and startx and everthing works
I dont think netconf uses a x server (unless one is running) ??
