[plug] CGA Graphics with 2.4.8 kernel

I have a system with a CGA graphics card in it (because I got 2 cga
monitors for free) setup to be my server machine.
Everything runs fine with 2.2.19 kernel except I cannot seem to get
networking running properly.
I was told that 2.4.8 will fix the problem that I was having.
is there any way I can get the virtual console to run in CGA mode under
2.4.8?
