Clinton,

I've only ever used Red Hat, Caldera, Mandrake and SuSE (for about 10
minutes) but have you given this a go:
/sbin/sndconfig ?

Like Alan said, Linux/Unix doesn't have the wizard sort of things Windows
does, most of it is learn by doing and it requires reading books and editing
text files and things as you go.
If you want to get things working in Linux, you're going to need patience
and a link to http://www.linux.org.au/LDP/HOWTO/HOWTO-INDEX/howtos.html

Would also help to be a bit nicer to people who you want help from....
