[plug] Web database stuff - Bollocks

I'm undertaking a project for a friend that involves creating a
database and being able to manage it through the webpage (adding
entries / searching / modifying entries) and I've been considering
ways I would achieve this but I'm not quite sure what systems I
should be for it possible choices are php3, perl, sql, db... and
others I haven't heard of anyway it'll need to interface with apache
(*grumbles* If I can get it to work... has anyone had success with
apache in Debian Woody? It installs fine and executes but then the
job dies or something). So can someone give suggestions on possible
ways I'd accomplish this and/or point me in the direction of
perl/php3/whatever resources like guides or something?

Thanks in advance,
  Paul Chamberlain

P.S Oh by the way before I forget, the Bollocks in the title is there
for a reason. Trevor I know you have Bollocks in Perl... how is that
going? What I'm working on is probably similar to Bollocks, any
chance of seeing the source?
