Not meaning to pointlessly perpetuate or anything like that, but what the
hell... as long as we're on the topic of mail (mis)behaviour...

How could anyone not be interested in wading through long pointless
meta-posts? Isn't that what this list is all about? :)

Well... if you're going to do a one-liner, it does help if it's a good one.
Pity that it wasn't so good (this time). :-/

I was sort of interested in this comment, as I feel the same (minus the
sarcasm) about Simon's posts/replies. I mean, he can be entertaining and
informative and he does seem to have a clue most of the time - except for
mail formatting.

I understand that MS Outlook and its ilk encourage top-posting and
discourage quote-trimming - hell, I have to use the damn thing myself at
work - but the fact that it does this doesn't mean you have to do things
its way.

Trimming quotes in Outlook is no more difficult than in any other email
client. When you don't make the (relatively small) effort to trim quotes
(click mouse - drag mouse - ctrl-x) and/or format your email in a readable
fashion, you're basically saying that you're lazy and you don't care how
others view you.

Agreed. As described above and below this sentence, there are far worse
(repeat) offenders than Bret on the list with regard to unnecessary and
untrimmed quoting.
