[plug] weird behaviour from sendmail

Sorry, more detail:

I've got a gateway box (debian) running sendmail and when I attempt to
send email to a hotmail address from any machine on the network it the
mail client shows the 'attempting to connect to server blah' message but
nothing happens.  The following lines then appear in the mail.log file

I can send email to all other addresses I have tried, just not hotmail.
