One word: no
I've _never_ seen a motherboard damage RAM unless its when the system
fries bigtime (burning plastic smell, the works).
Certainly not if it'll still run.
Sometimes the only way to track down these problems is do part-swapping.
Try your RAM, PCI cards, and CPU if possible in another machine. See if
it works ok.
You really need a testbed machine to diagnose these problems. If you
don't have access to a spare to use as a testbed you may have to pay to
have it repaired by a dealer if you can't quickly nail the problem.
