Sounds like WinMe has been given the boot!

Sorry. Absolutely no help to you at all but
I couldn't resist. :)

Why not use a separate machine for each. Saves all the
hassles.

Mark.

Subject: [plug] redhat 7.0 and windows me dual boot

hi there everybody,

i used to have redhat 7.0 and windows 98 second edition dual booting fine
and dandy....then windows 98 screwed up (yeah yeah i hear ya) and so i
decided might as well take a look what windows me is like. so i installed
that and, needless to say, it wiped the master boot record (mbr) so LILO
wasn't there no more.

anyway i had anticipated that and had my linux boot disk prepared. i
booted into linux and ran /sbin/lilo again to install LILO in the mbr. it
seemed to install fine so i rebooted the computer....sure enough there was
the boot selection screen. redhat boots okay from it but when i choose
windows me it just doesn't boot at all and gives me the blue screen of
death without even geting into windows.

any idea why this happens?? has it got something to do with windows not
running on top of dos anymore??? is there a way around it???? or do i have
to resort to installing LILO in the boot record of the linux partition
then use something like bootmagic to dual boot....but if LILO wouldn't
work who's to say bootmagic will??

thanks in advanced for any help provided guys....take it easy and have a
nice week.

cheers,
evan
