[plug] Linux conf hang....

G'day all,

I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to boot problems, so any help is
appreciated !

After a technician unplugged the Linux server without shutting it down
properley (of all people you'd think a technician would know NOT to do
that?!) the machine I've configured for dial in access now hangs at
Linuxconf on boot - people can dial but it can't auth, probably because
Linuxconf in some way deals with PAP Authentication (correct me if I am
wrong !) ?

This is probably a very broad question for such a problem, but is there any
way of finding out exactly why it's hanging, and fix the problem?
