>Not sure if its sendmail or OL2K, but on several sites where users are
using OL2K and sendmail (Linux RH6.2 servers) they complain when trying to
send to multiple email address, the messages get stuck in the outbox and
therefore never get to it destination. But if they do one-at-a-time it
works fine. Anyone run into a problem of such?
If they are left in your Outbox on OL2K, they are not negotiating the SMTP
connection to sendmail and therefore I would suspect the problem is with OL.
I haven't seen the problem before, but recommend to check firstly the OL
settings and then the M$ web site for anyone else having the prob.
>Also If a user decides to keep his email on the server (sendmail) (again a
setting in OLK2K) can he access the same mail both open and not open email
from his home PC or laptop from a different location. From what I'm being
told seems he has his pst files on his workstations. The real question is
if the setting on each workstation is to leave the mail on the server will
this show the same e-mail no matter where they logged in from.
You recieve email with a POP server (Post Office Protocol; probably version
3, or something like IMAP or various other alternatives - but it's not
Sendmail), Sendmail is an MTA and deals primarily in SMTP.
Check what POP3 (or alternate) service is running and then check what method
it uses to determine what mails have been read (there are at least two
options, probably 3) and make sure the one that OL2K supports is the one
used. Also, make sure they are both configured to 'Leave Mail On Server' or
equivalent :)
Sorry if that sounds a little vague, but thats what I remember OTTOMH.
