[plug] OT: ADSL Telstra reliability/continuity of service vs others

I wasnt asking them to support Linux, I was asking them to reset the
virtual tunnel :)
Yeh, basically broadband sucks in Australia. I dont know how Telstra
and the others get away with charging cents per megabyte, and they dont pay
for bandwidth that way (or so I hear).
In some countries you can get a 10Mb perm link unlimited for less
than Telstra ADSL.
As I said, back to dial up for me. And Ill be switching everything
over to Optus, and so will my family (well, everyone except my brother, but
he works for Telstra :))

Well... whilst I think that the 3gb capping was a very dirty
manipulative move on Telstra's part (totally inappropriate to change
things mid contract) the bummer is that according to the list on
whirlpool of ISP's offering DSL in Aus, it appears that they all
have
less than a 3GB limit anyway. :(
In terms of support. Yes, they appear to be reading from scripts,
but
it is laid down initially on connection that they aren't interested
in
supporting Linux. The bummer is kicking everything over before you
call
them to complain I guess!
