I find it alot easier to set it up as Mike says (use linuxconf or
whatever) and then type 'ifup ppp0' or in the case of debian, 'pon optus'
Things like kppp and gnome ppp always have problems like this. They
are pretty stupid, I dont see the point.
If you want point and click, install masqdialer. That way the link
can also be brought up/down from other machines on the network, including
winboxes and macs.
