Umm, I have run X with xinerama and software GL on a Jeronimo 2000 card
(two 3DLabs chipsets, uses the glint XFree86 driver twice.)  Java3D apps
(java3d uses opengl underneath) work fine, and the java3d window can
even display while split across two monitors.
