I was having a LOT of trouble installing them until I found out about the
"--force" command. I noticed that at linuxnebie.org, Nvidia drivers are a
common question, so in case anyone needs to know, here you go:
Donload the rpm files and stick 'em in an easy to remember directory.
Go to it and type:
Note that x refers to the version number of your filename
rpm -ivh NVIDIA_kernel.x.i386.rpm
rpm -ivh --force NVIDIA_GLX.x.i386.rpm
Now edit your Xfree86 config:
mcedit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
and change it from
driver "nv"
to
driver "nvidia"
If there's a # before load "GLX", delete the #.
Hope I was a help to someone.
