Hmmm, that was el-es-pee-see-eye, as in Lima-Sierra-Peru-Charlie-India

Looks like the device is there and has a correct IRQ etc, so perhaps that
driver is not correct for the card, or there may be other cards at the same
address.

I have seen strange problems when I had a DPT SCSI controller and an
HPT-based IDE controller card in my system at once ...

At this stage, all I can say is shuffle cards and see if it goes away.
