I thought RAID 5 had to on the same architecture? ie all SCSI or all IDE
not a mix. From memory you can use different sizes of drives, it will
use the smallest common denominator for all drives.

#Hi I'm Trying to make a RAID-5 array with 3 SCSI and 1 IDE
#disk on my debian box and it doesn't work.
#I have compiled the kernel to include the raid5 personality, I
#have configured my /etc/raidtab according to the man page but
#if I give it the command
#mkraid /dev/md0
#it says the 4 drives and all of their info but the next line
#says that mkraid failed see /proc/mdstat and syslog for clues,
#but they say nothing.
#What am I doing wrong??
