I doubt it.  it may work if you have all of /var/lib/pgsql from 6.5
If you install 6.5 on the new box anf then over write evry thing in
/var/lib/pgsql with the old data ..... sounds real dogey tho ....

Is the old box dead or has postgres died... if the latter is there any hope of
fixing it long enought to do the dump???
