[plug] Gnome desktop woes

In gnome gmc or nautilus (if you use it) are what control the icons and
all that on the desktop. if for some reason they crash, or get removed
from the session startup info, then you will loose your icons on the
desktop. Which is what i did, cause i hate the desktop icons and
handling
