[plug] Installing Mandrake ver. 8

Is it possible to install Mandrake via HTTP/FTP like you would install
Debian for example?, by just downloading a small base distribution and
then installing the rest of the distribution via a package manager sort
of thing (I know Mandrake has one based on rpm's). I tried booting with
the network.img floppy disk, (supposedly for NFS/HTML/FTP), but it would
only find my Ethernet card and I've got a modem connection. I then
downloaded all the files in Mandrake/base which gives me the nice
graphical installation (decidedly un-linux-like :) ), but then it looks
on my hard drives for the rpm's it wants to install from.

Any help would be most appreciated, I'll try and buy the cd's soon though.

Thanks,
Mikey.
