ok, first question
Why do you want to install 'bare minimum'???
When I first started with Linux I had romantic ideas about
installing just the base and installing everything else by hand so I knew
everything that was on it and so that there was no bloat.
For a workstation, its really not worth the time. For a server, you
should do this anyway, but probably using Debian or Slackware.
So if its a workstation you are proposing to do this for, dont
bother, unless its an academic exercise.
In which case, yes, it is possible.
It's kinda like bothering to compile your kernel with everything you
need in it and no module support (or module support only for ppp).
Supposedly can increase the speed of your machine etc etc , but in the end
you just run the default kernel and load modules as necessary :) Again,
unless its a server......

Subject: [plug] Installing RH7.0 BARE minimum
G'day all
I have a few days ie about 1 (but hey thats my free time!) in which
to muck around with linux again
I'm thinking of obliterating my RH6.0 install and attempting RH7.0
again... only this time installing ABSOLUTE BARE Minimum and using packages
and binaries to install THE LOT!!!
im REALTIVELY new to linux, is this
a) a good idea
b) possible or
c) feasible?
also if so how do you do a text mode install of RH7.0 from a CD?
Cheers!
