Brian,
I recently spoke to Communications Australia (the rep has now left the org)
about satellite. Dish $8000 inlcuding the 'converter box' to the server;
2channel= Sat-DOWN and ISDN-UP. Down at 512k $4200/month + usage; Down at 256k
$2100mnth + usage. Surely they can afford the MS solution at these prices.
Unless you are bush then (various) Radio solutions are cheaper opition.
[ I am trying to stretch my memory on the single channel, which I think uses
a transmitter back UP. Which means there is likely to be a cost on the
transmitter. Sorry, I don't have any other detail on this.]
The interesting part above is the [quote] 'converter box' [unquote]. This
will be where all your questions will be answered. If Telstra can't help
(and why would I not be surprised!) then try Communications Australia 9355
6777 as a first stop for some detail. (I have no interest whatsoever in
this Company.)
Regards,
wayne.
