Never tried ext3. ext2 always caused probs with the time to recover
20g+ disk space on a crash/bad shutdown(wrong switch on power point!)
and in a couple of cases I lost some files, and even the lot in one
case.
I have had one prob only with a reiserfs (an infinite directory!) and it
was easily fixed with the reiser tools, nothing lost.
I avoided ext3 as it seems too much like a patch to something that had
proved itself obsolete by newer designs like reiser is, not for any real
perceived advantage.
There's also jfs which some are touting as the *answer*, but I think
that its basicly up to you ... as long as you choose a journalled file
system.
