I'd say now would be a good time to update to that 2.4 kernel :)
 The Netgear FA311 is supported by the module natsemi.o, which (afak) is 
ony available in the 2.4 kernels. However, this should be pretty easy if 
you're already running Woody, just install the appropriate package.
