Disable-interrupts followed by wait-for-interrupt or branch-dot will
generally do about as much as a CPU crash or something like disabling the MMU
and then trying to use it (shades of Windows 98: remove the sound driver,
THEN play the shutdown sound), but yes, executing some series of undefined
instructions will often literally knot up a CPU.
