I got the impression that it could actually fly standalone, as it were, just 
not very gracefully. Australia is pretty much ideal for it, since so much of 
our continent is either dead flat or small hills. Even so, drifting off 
course and suddenly finding a mountain range in your path at 300km/h could be 
a bit tragic...

I wonder what it would be like standing on the ground when one went straight 
over the top of you? I bet that if they were used commercially there would be 
unofficial grandstands below the usual routes. (-:
