fair enough - but it is all about freedom of choice isn't it. i would find
it impossible to live without the 'apt' system...
why stick with a standard that is 'sub-standard'?
the fact that lots of people use *.doc files and believe they are standard,
doesn't stop me from using other formats...

i know there is an apt-get for RPM files, it would be nice if there was
some integration of the whole system - somewhere down the line - that
doesn't compromise on quality and usability...
