I have tried 'poweroff' and 'shutdown -h now' both go through the shutdown
sequence and try to tell the power supply to turn off. I also have Knoppix
which, when shutdowns halts with the text 'powerdown' or 'poweroff' I can't
remember which. Even that would be fine for me.
