[plug] Problem with RH 7.3 up2date agent

I have just tried to run up2date, for the latest kernel (finally got 
through again).

When I was last able to get through, to try this, I got a similar error 
message.

It is:
Warning
"Test install failed because of package conflicts:
installing package kernel-2.4.18-10 needs 6Mb on the / filesystem"

df -h shows Avail 28MB on the / filesystem.

So, there appears to be plenty of space on the / filesystem.

I previously got the same error message, with "needs 380Kb on the / 
filesystem", with more free space.

Can someone please clarify the problem?
