I don't know about tuxfamily, but ... Ive had success with apt for RH7.3 
from  http://ccrma-www.stanford.edu/planetccrma/software/  . A very 
handy site if you want to set up your redhat box for audio work. (or do 
upgrades via apt for that matter). They have apt rpms for 7.2 ,7.3 and 8.0.
