>John, it should be simple enough. What did you do exactly?
The same way I've always done it, with SuSE and Mandrake etc, the way in the
docs. Here's my shell messages:
[root at dorris src]# rpm -i NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.rh73up.i686.rpm
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.18-3/kernel/drivers/video/NVdriver
/lib/modules/2.4.18-3/kernel/drivers/video/NVdriver: unresolved symbol
irq_stat_R51b43718
/lib/modules/2.4.18-3/kernel/drivers/video/NVdriver:
Hint: You are trying to load a module without a GPL compatible license
and it has unresolved symbols. The module may be trying to access
GPLONLY symbols but the problem is more likely to be a coding or
user error. Contact the module supplier for assistance, only they
can help you.
/lib/modules/2.4.18-3/kernel/drivers/video/NVdriver: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.18-3/kernel/drivers/video/NVdriver failed
/lib/modules/2.4.18-3/kernel/drivers/video/NVdriver: insmod NVdriver failed
NVdriver installed successfully
and for glx:
[root at dorris src]# rpm -i NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-3123.suse73.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
3ddiag is needed by NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-3123
and for 3ddiag:
[root at dorris src]# rpm -i 3ddiag-0.250-3.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libhd.so.2 is needed by 3ddiag-0.250-3

They should be..... editing the XF86Config-4's not gonna be a prob though.

No, I haven't.

Hard to argue with the dependencies the packages are telling me about......
