The same way I've always done it, with SuSE and Mandrake etc, the way in the 
docs. Here's my shell messages:

and for glx:

and for 3ddiag:

[root at dorris src]# rpm -i 3ddiag-0.250-3.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
        libhd.so.2 is needed by 3ddiag-0.250-3

They should be..... editing the XF86Config-4's not gonna be a prob though.

Hard to argue with the dependencies the packages are telling me about......
