For an expansion of this thread, why not talk to Jamie Gilkinson of
Gilkinson's Dance Studio?
They have a custom written mixing MP3 player with hooks to the lighting
and mixing... 

It'd be a start to an article, and you know there's some time before
this linmag hits the mbox
